Session Moderator Pavel Tolypin, the REC representative for promotion in foreign markets, spoke about the activities of the export centre: "Currently, we are having more than 150 events in various countries. We recover up to 80% of the costs we incur when we take part in the convention and exhibition activities. It is a pleasure to find that this Forum offers a considerable export potential."

Yury Dokukin, Director of the St. Petersburg branch of the REC, recounted main opportunities for the players on the Russian market to enter the global marketplace: marketing tools, services for interaction with authorities, export credit and investment insurance, state financial support: "In 2016, strategic development council defined as the main threat the absence of Russian players among the leaders of non-primary exports on the international level. The Russian export centre's mission is to help to lay the groundwork for enterprises to be able to export comfortably".

The REC portfolio contains more than 100 services. You can find unique products at the site of the company www.exportcenter.ru. One of them is the market  barrier requirements navigator, which is a knowledge base on all barriers for exporters. Financial instruments to support export include the possibility of obtaining funds to fulfill obligations before counterparties, bridging the cash gap, loans to foreign buyers, providing securities for the return of an advance. The central agent of support here is ROSEXIMBANK, which is part of the structure of the state system of export development.

Vladimir Belousov, branch Director of the REC for engineering and energy, expressed hope for a constructive dialogue and feedback from RIEF participants: "It would be a great success if as a result of this session we will be able to have an action card allowing us to improve the existing support mechanisms for the Russian exports. That is why we are here."

Olga Amiryan, Director of the Centre for export support under the Government of St. Petersburg, told about free advice on certification and customs regulation for small and medium-sized businesses: "You can just call us and make an appointment with us to see an expert for a personal consultation.” Specifically, Olga Amiryan singled out a popular service offering translation to 17 languages, including Chinese: "We are offering any company free translation of up to 200 pages within 5 days. There were several questions from the audience. Particularly, there was a question if there are ways to obtain restricted information about the market volumes of specific countries. Besides giving the information on statistic reports, Vladimir Belousov recommended to participate in joint business missions to selected countries saying that "... today this is the most effective tool for market valuation."

Experts also suggested that beginning exporters should start with 1 to 2 external markets and gradually expand the export zone, carry out additional marketing research of their own and make extensive use of the services provided by REC to enter new markets.
